Youth Radio Accepts PRNDI Awards in D.C.

Youth Radio reporters Josh Clayton and Sayre Quevedo traveled to Washington, DC, this month to accept national awards from the Public Radio News Directors Incorporated. Josh's piece, "There are No Children in Oakland," (accompanying video is here) won first place, and Sayre's story "Clearing a Criminal Record Comes at a Cost," took second place in the hard feature category. The event was hosted by NPR's All Things Considered host Audie Cornish.

While on the east coast, the reporters met with All Things Considered producers and editors at NPR Headquarters, sat in on a live taping of All Things Considered, and soaked up the sights of Washington D.C
