Chemistry

"Since elementary school, I’ve always taken the most difficult classes available for my grade. So my decision to take AP Chemistry was a no-brainer."

Listen to this Commentary!

By Ankitha Bharadwaj

Some times certain school subjects are more challenging than one would expect them to be. Ankitha Bharadwaj from Youth Radio shares her surprise when faced with AP Chemistry obstacles and her determination to overcome them.

At school, I’ve always been known as the brainiac. And this year I bravely went where very few sophomores have gone before - AP Chemistry.

I’m Ankitha Bharadwaj with a commentary from Youth Radio.

Since elementary school, I’ve always taken the most difficult classes available for my grade. So my decision to take AP Chemistry was a no-brainer.

Before this class, it never bugged me when my family or friends had high hopes for me because I always met their expectations. But in the case of AP chemistry, I am physically, mentally and intellectually unable to sustain my exalted reputation.

It was difficult to come to terms with the fact that I could actually fail, but I basically grew number to the failure and try to do better as the year goes on. Right now, I’m more motivated to get my grade up then ever … and as a matter of fact, I just got a B on the last test.
