Color Contacts

"Many people say your eyes are the windows to your soul."

Listen to this Commentary!

By Sanovia Jackson

Many people say your eyes are the windows to your soul. I agree but when you have on color contacts the windows are suddenly shut.

I enjoy color contacts because they make me mysterious. I wear them because they are fun and I like the way they look on me. I don’t wear colors like red, yellow, or blue. I prefer colors that actually look like they could be mine.

I’ve always wanted to change my eye color. My eyes are naturally the dull dark brown that most people seem to have. But now I wear a color they call in stores “honey”. It’s similar to light brown. And it catches people’s attention.

It’s funny when someone looks at you and does a double take because of your eyes. They usually give me a shocked look or a long stare. I can’t help but laugh every time it happens.

And I’m willing to take the risk of scratching my cornea because of the attention I get.
