The Weekend Is Dead

"And so, to you stressed out students, I say…take back the weekend."

Listen to this Commentary!

By Rachel Krantz

This just in: For those of you who didn't already know, the weekend is dead.

After two days of trying to get through what seemed like a never-ending mountain of homework this past supposed-weekend, my mind and body decided they would have no more. I ended my Sunday with a migraine.

By the end of the night, as the throbbing in my head reached its climax, I realized something that really made me nauseous. I had literally managed to make myself sick.

But, why this weekend? Sure, I was agonizing over a supposed-quiz where I had to memorize 130 terms. And yes, it took me four hours just to gather the definitions and organize them into note cards, and that was only for one of my classes, but hey, that's the price we pay, right?

And so, to you stressed out students, I say...take back the weekend. Don't let pressures get to you to the point that you have to stay in bed the next day.
