John Cho Interview: DECONSTRUCTED

Caitlin Grey recounts her experience interviewing actor John Cho, star of Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay:

"We got up and made our way to the 'suite' as the PR rep had told us. When we entered the huge living-room type area, we saw a gaping window with an amazing view of the city, a coffee table with magazines, and some fancy couches. Oh yeah, and John Cho."

Check the link for the original interview too!

Roach Report: Beans Ain't Eatin'

"[In] this day and age where music flows like water over the internet and CD sales are at an all time low, it makes it even harder for the artist to survive solely on being an artist"

Financial Aid Woes

"I was always taught that financial aid was wrong by my parents. When applying to colleges I came across the option to apply for financial aid or not... I remembered learning from my parents that 'nothing is free. Especially if it is from the government.' I wasn’t going to just decide blindly to reject applying for financial aid. I got a second opinion."-- Antony Juaregui

Question of the Week

When it comes to the news,
who do you trust?

"I Trust NBC. The news casters seem more professional than many other news stations. They provide great coverage on stories, and don’t waste news time on breaking news by repeating the same thing over and over again."

-Ohime Sheeme, Youth Radio LA

Name Change

"Imagine someone offered you the opportunity to change your name. Would you take it? South Africans are faced with a situation where all the evil lads that led during the apartheid regime managed to name everything after themselves."

Racial Tension

Antony Jauregui explores the complexities of race relations in his school, Inglewood High. He says there’s more fear of tension between young Blacks and Latinos then actual conflict.

"I think Inglewood has one, unique hometown culture. The way people from the neighborhood talk and dress is a mixture of African American cultures and Hispanic cultures."

More Responses To Obama
"I was particularly struck by his confession that he did not disown his White grandmother when she made racially divisive statements. In his words, he “cringed” at the comments, but continued to love his grandmother."

HOPI HIGH

Postcard From Hopi High
"Some of us actually love coming to school because its a chance for all of us to hang out, but we don’t like doing all the school work. Our villages are small and are each 9-10 miles apart and most of us don’t have driver’s licenses because the Arizona Motor Vehicle Division is about 2 or 3 hours away,
so it’s difficult for us to hang out on the weekends.

Democratic Canidates & Same Sex Marriage
"This whole time I thought the Democratic candidates backed same-sex marriage because I have read about their opinions on the LGBT community and they were all pretty positive. But, now I see that while they do want to help our community, like backing us up to end 'don't ask, don't tell'; and , they still have a problem with same sex marriage."
