Ellen Degeneres plays Dory in the movies “Finding Nemo” and “Finding Dory”.
She is a well-known star, comedian, actress, writer, producer and tv host who won the Teen Choice Awards and the Saturn Award for the Best Supporting Actress.
She is so funny, inspiring and a loving person. She is a lesbian who is part of the LGBTQ community that has shown people that it is okay to be different because not everybody is the same and not everybody needs to fit in to contribute to society.
She opened about her struggles, how she has been keeping her secrets for years and came out to Oprah in 1977. She does not want to live in fear that people would come to threaten her and came to the conclusion to accept her sexuality. She has impacted the world, saying that it is normal to be different. She has been married to Portia de Rossi since 2008. People in society claim that homosexuality is wrong and it is a disease or disorder that homosexuals have.They believe that they were born that way and it is not a choice to be gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender. It is also part of who they are. On June 12,2016 there was a mass shooting at nightclub. 50 people were killed and 53 people were injured.Their life was taken by someone who was against them simply because they’re different. They have been fighting for same sex marriage for so long and the fact that they can married to someone who they are attracted to is such a huge deal for them and nothing will stop them from marrying someone who are same gender. The victims who survive admired her for encouraging them to keep swimming and to keep fighting. We should be more open-minded and be comfortable around other people who are different.
I would recommend Ellen Degeneres’s work for anyone who does not know her from watching her shows or youtube because she can make you laugh and smile whenever you have a bad day. She is the most relatable, understandable and down-to-earth person you’ll ever know.
